Goodbye Green...

Hello Blue!!!!

I.LOVE.IT!
Yay! Brad primed and painted most of the room on Friday night, and then my Dad came over on Saturday to help with the bottom half. It turned out better than I imagined in my head. Now the fun can begin with putting everything up and getting it ready for baby John! I can't tell you how excited I have been to meet this guy! It is all I think about!

My work threw me a great shower on Friday night. It is so humbling to have so many people being so generous and giving. We are so, so lucky. We were just looking at everything we have in our basement yesterday and were in awe that people bought all of that for us and the baby. We really can't thank everyone enough. My friend and teaching partner Cristen planned so much of my shower, and my friend and other teammate, Michelle, had it at her house, and did such an awesome job with all of the cute little decorations and food. It was a lot of fun! Of course I forgot my camera (I have now forgotten my camera to all 3 of my showers...my father-in-law has had to go back and get it for me at the first two...this last one I was on my own :) But, I will try to get some pictures on Monday.

I went to the doctor on Thursday for my 33 week appointment. Two weeks ago, at 31 weeks, the dr felt his head and assured me he was head down and that he most likely would stay in that position since he will be running out of room to really move. Well, this little stinker is already being a typical boy...he flipped! Well, at least the dr thought so. So now my doctor thinks he is breech, but then reassured me there is still plenty of time for him to flip back around! So hopefully he will be doing some gymnastics in there (it sure feels like he is, so thats good!). I go back on the 4th, then I start going every week, so they will be more concerned next time if he is still in that position. It just makes me nervous, but if I have to have a C-section, so be it. Whatever it takes to get him out so he is healthy and safe. I think the thing that makes me the most nervous is that if they have to schedule a C-section, I have heard they usually do it around 38 weeks...Yikes, that is only about a month away! So, we'll see what happens...

Libby's baptism is today. Brad and I are so honored to be the godparents. I am looking forward to going and having lunch with my family and Doug's family afterwards. I already have my camera packed for this one :)

So that's my weekly baby update...here is a 33 week picture of me.

Have a great week!

Baby Shower!

We had our 2nd baby shower here yesterday, it was absolutely perfect! My mom and sister did such an awesome job planning it, thank you so much! We love you!! The flowers and cookie favors turned out so cute, and I didn't get too many pictures of the room set up, but I will put some that I took once we got home. We had it at Kruse and Muer's, which is "our" restaurant. Brad and I love it there and the shower was no different. The service was great, the food was good, but most importantly, so many of our family and friends were there to celebrate with us, which means so much. Brad's parents came from IN, my uncle and cousin came from OH, and two of my college roommates, Angie and Kelly, flew in from Boston and Nashville. Thanks girls, it meant to much to me that you were there!!! I miss you!!!

We are so overwhelmed once again by everyone's generosity. My parents came back to the house afterwards with my in-laws and sister-in-law, and we went back through everything. Then this morning Brad and I spend about an hour going through it again. He wanted to make sure he knew what everything was :) But we are so excited, it makes it so much more real now, and we can't say thank you enough to everyone for coming and for all the wonderful and thoughtful gifts! Here are a few snapshots, but most of them are on Facebook!

In other baby news, my curtains that I ordered came in. And I don't like them. Surprise, surprise. Soooo, I decided earlier this week that we are going to paint the room. I have been struggling with liking this green, so instead, we are going to paint blue! I am going to head to Pottery Barn Kids this afternoon, because apparently they have paint swatches that coordinate with their bedding. So next weekend hopefully we can get it painted and then start getting everything set up! Yay!

This past week was busy, busy, busy! Brad and I started our childbirth classes this past week, so we have to go the next 3 Wednesdays. It was actually fun! I have been taking my prenatal water aerobics class on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, which has been good. It isn't really a great cardio workout, but it helps so much to stretch and relax. So that has been fun too. We also met with some pediatricians this past week to check out some different offices...

I am so excited to have tomorrow off work tomorrow for MLK day. Brad is taking my car to get an automatic starter put on (Yay!) so I am going to try to tackle some major closet/basement organization here. Hopefully I can get motivated to get all of it done! This week is going to be so fast, especially not having to work on Monday. I have a sub on Wednesday for some training, and then we have a half day on Friday b/c it is the end of the semester. Then, my work is throwing me a shower on Friday night! SOOOO excited!!!

Well, I better get off the computer and moving today. All this shower cake I have eaten is telling me I should go to the gym...Have a great week!

Master Bathroom Remodel

My dad and brother in law have been working on redoing our bathroom and it is now finished! I love it! They did such a nice job, I love walking by it and seeing it. I still need to finish putting evrything back in, but it feels so clean and I know how quickly that will change! I realized I don't have any before pictures, probably because the bathroom was the one room I hated when we bought our house. The bathtub was discusting, the floor was old tile that was probably the original, and the cabinets were these nasty brown things. Soooo, here are some pictures of our new and improved bathroom:

I also came downstairs the other night to find this:

Things are moving right along here in the Monhaut household!

Happy 2010!

Happy New Year! I can't believe that in one year from now we will have a nine month old son!!! Crazy! I hope everyone had a good holiday. We did, but these past two weeks flew by! That's okay though, I am ready to get back into the groove of things and on a routine. Especially with eating! I am scared to go back to the doctor on Thursday to see how much I have gained in the past two weeks :)

We had a really good holiday, Brad got all the furniture put together in the baby's room. I only have a picture of the crib, so here is that and you can see the green I have been talking about:

I am happy the way it all looks. I ordered the crib, dresser, and bookshelves all from different places, so I was worried the woods wouldn't match, but they look good. This month is going to be really busy. I start my prenatal water aerobics on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and then starting next Wednesday we have our child birth classes for the next 4 weeks. Also a tour of the hospital on the 23rd and a breastfeeding class early February.

My sister and mom are throwing my shower on the 16th, I am SO excited! Then my work is throwing me a shower on the 22nd!! Yay! It will be so much fun! Well, here are some pics from me this morning at 30 weeks...these are for you Ang :

I am off to my sisters to spend some time with Libby!
