Wow, I can't believe it has been a year since my last post! I have just gotten so bad about blogging because it was time consuming to upload pictures off my camera, format them, etc. Over the past year I have been using my iPhone and iPad so much more, and i just now discovered this blog app so hopefully it will make blogging more realistic again! I know there is way too much to recap from last Oct, so here is a quick summary of what we have been up to.
1. Watching John grow into an energetic, loving, funny 3 1/2 year old who steals our hearts every day. He constantly amazes us with new things and interests and is so much fun! He started preschool this year, which deserves its own blog post, but we are so proud at how well he has been doing and the feedback from his new teachers. Just can't even say how much I love this little guy!
2. We went to Disney in February with my parents and sister, brother in law, and nieces. It was an amazing trip. I want to go back so bad. John and Libby had so much fun. We were hesitant at first thinking John would be too young, but he had the best time ever. Even if he won't remember it when he is older, we will.
3. This year has been a difficult year for our family as my sister has been experiencing some health issues. For those who know us, you know what is going on, and maybe I will blog about it with more detail, but prayers for her health and strength are much appreciated. The whole experience has definitely made me realize how important family is and puts all of the little things we worry about in perspective. I have really turned to my faith over the past few months to help get through all of this. My sister is my best friend and I love her so much. She is seriously the strongest person I know and her attitude and positivity right now are so admiring. I just know she will get through this.
4. And for some good news, John is going to be be a big brother in February!!! We are expecting another baby boy, so he is very excited to have a brother. It has been an interesting journey the second time around, and I know things all work out for a reason. John was so easy...we pretty much started talking about starting a family, and poof, we were pregnant! This time not so much. A year later, we are expecting and couldn't be happier. I had a miscarriage back in January and was devastated at the time, but we are so thankful for this miracle and know that what is meant to be is meant to be. We had our big 20 week ultrasound last week and this guy is perfectly healthy and we couldn't be more grateful. Plus, the timing will work out perfectly with work!
So, hopefully this new app will bring me back on the blogging scene. I may have to recruit some new readers though! :). This blog was such a great way to document my pregnancy and first years with John, so I am hoping to do the same with #2. With that, I will leave you with some pictures! I am not going to write out captions, but this is a year in a snapshot from my phone. I am going to love this app!!
