Spring Fever!

Well, we have definitely been experiencing the typical Michigan weather here. It teases us with some really nice day, then we are hit with cold and rain for a few days. But that's okay, we have been taking advantage of the nice weather when it is here. To say John loves to be outside is an understatement. If we say the word outside, he runs to the front door and points. If we say the word "shoes," he knows this probably means he will go outside, so he will grab his shoes and sit down for us to put them on.

We have had a fun few weeks around here. A lot of playing outside. John and Libby spent last weekend at my parents house while we had an adult getaway, and they had a lot of fun! Brad and I had a lot of fun too, but we really missed our baby!!!

Today John woke up with a fever, so I stayed home with him. I will really be glad when his immune system is better. I feel like he is always sick. But luckily he doesn't really act sick, so we still had a great day today. And is it bad to say that I love the fact that he is a little more cuddly when he is sick? I mean, he usually won't let me just rock with him and read to him for one straight book, let alone 4 in a row today! We went to the dr and they were a little concerned because he was wheezing slightly, and with his pneumonia a few months back, but luckily all was good. A few days of breathing treatments and he should be fine.

In better news, my sister-in-law Lisa won a triathalon series this weekend in Memphis. She placed 1st overall female on Saturday and 2nd overall female on Sunday, giving her enough points to take the overall win! Whoo hoo! We are so proud of you and John is too! We are heading to Lake Placid, NY this summer to watch her compete in her 3rd Ironman! We are so excited to see you in action!

Anyways, I know there is so much more to write, but The Bachelorette premiere is starting (my biggest guilty pleasure) and I am once again about to be sucked into the "dramatic" rose ceremonies and group dates. So I hope everyone has a good week and a great Memorial Day Weekend! I will post lots more pictures after next weekend, I'm sure. We are looking forward to seeing all of our families!

Have a good week!

Brad competed in a 10 hour adventure race a few weeks ago. He survived and we made it at the end to see him cross the finish line!

Updates coming soon!

I promise I haven't forgotten about my blog! We have been so busy with the nicer weather (well, sort of nice weather here and there...it is Michigan after all), plus Brad and I were out of town last weekend. So I promise a blog update is on its way this weekend. For now, here are a few pictures of us just hanging out at home.

Bruiser

So yesterday we encountered our first "accident." The weather was beautiful out when I got out of work, and so when John and I got home I took him outside to play. We were in the front yard and John was walking/running down the driveway when he tumbled over and took a face plant into the concrete. It was like slow motion.

So of course I freaked out when he stood up sobbing and his face was all bloody. Oh, and a giant knot appeared on his head in a matter of seconds. So after cleaning him up and soothing him, he was okay after a few minutes. I think it was harder on me than him!!! So he is pretty pathetic looking today. It actually looks better today than it did yesterday...I'm sure this is our first of many bumps and bruises with this little guy!!!

Catching Up

Busy, busy, busy. That's what life has been like around here the past few weeks. But in a really good way. We had a great Easter and Brad's parents came into town last weekend, so it has been nice to be around family.

On the Saturday before Easter, our subdivision had its annual Easter egg hunt. It was fun to actually be part of it this year! Jenny, Doug, and Libby came over for it. They had over 700 eggs hidden behind our houses, and the weather was perfect. John and Libs did really good too...they really got the hang of it. Here are some pictures:

Waiting for the fun to start.

So excited!

Found one!

Libby got a lot too~she was so funny when she discovered there was CANDY inside!!

"How many did you get?"

The Easter bunny came to our house on Sunday and brought John a table and chairs, along with a basket full of coloring stuff, his latest obsession. Mainly he likes to carry the crayons around and occasionally put them in his mouth. Sometimes he actually will draw on the paper. He seems to know what to do at least!

Ready for church in my Easter best.

We had Easter dinner at our house this year, which was fun and low key. It was such a beautiful day out, so we played outside and went to the park.

Brad's parents came this past weekend. My mother in law had a work conference all day on Friday near us, so my father in law came on Thursday night and babysat John on Friday. We had a great weekend. We took John to swimming on Saturday and then went to the zoo. John kept us all entertained by doing laps around the house, talking up a storm, and eating snacks like crazy. Although his favorite snack of the weekend were bananas, so it could be worse :)

On Saturday night we went out to dinner. For dessert we all split a chocolate cake with ice cream, which of course John loved. My father in law bought John some dilly bars from Dairy Queen and a neat little holder so it won't drip. So Don, these are for you (the stick was too thick for the holder though...not that he let much drip anyways!) John had his first Dilly Bar for dessert last night and was in HEAVEN. He is so my kid. He literally attacked this thing. I tried to take it away, not intending he would eat all of it. You would have thought I took his arm off. So Brad gave it back and just kept taking big bites off. John got that stick dry to the last lick! HA!

Look at that face! I don't think his mouth would open any wider!

Don't mess with my and my ice cream!

Look how focused he is! hehe

All gone~Can we have this EVERY night?!?!

This week is another busy week for us. I had to go to 6th grade orientation tonight, so I am beat. I am going to get my jammies on and call it a night. I hope everyone has a great week!
