October

I know, I know, I have fallen behind on blog posts. The past two weeks have been a whirlwind! We celebrated Halloween with our parent's group. the Zoo Boo, Daycare party, and actual Halloween night. John's monkey costume did pretty good for his first Halloween~and we had a lot of fun!

Brad's parents came into town the weekend of Halloween, so John got to spend the day Friday with them and then Brad's mom and Brad did an adventure race at Bloomer Park on Saturday. We went to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner (Kona Grill) and John was a little ham for all of the servers. We had a lot of fun!

Our kitchen is coming along...it looks awesome. I will dedicate a post to "the reveal" soon! If you look close in some of the pictures, you can see a sneak peek!

John is still battling his ear infection. We are on our third antibiotic and if this doesn't work, we are off to see an ENT and most likely get tubes put in. Sniff, sniff. I have talked to so many people though that have gone through this, and I know it is a simple procedure. Brad and his sister both had them, and many of my colleague's children have had them, so I have several good recommendations if we need them.

On a good note, John is starting to crawl! He is only going about two or three "steps" forward, and then he plops down. He is getting it though! He is actually walking too~well, maybe nit quite, but he has been loving his walker and has actually taken quite a few steps all on his own pushing it. He still loves to stand and jump, and can now pull himself up on the furniture. It is so much fun going through all of these milestones!

Well, here are a few pictures from the last few weeks...Enjoy :)

My Little Monkey

John had his first Halloween party tonight. We joined a parents group through the hospital with other couples in our area that had babies around the same time as us. It is a fun group, and it has been so much fun to see all of the different babies and how different they are every two weeks. John had so much fun at the party tonight. He didn't even really fuss with his costume! We actually didn't make him wear the "body" part of the costume, because it was so big and every time we would sit him up, he would fall over. It was kind of like A Christmas Story! Anyways, it was so fun to see all the babies in their costumes! They were all so cute!

John has another Halloween party for his daycare next Thursday night, and we are going to a Halloween zoo exhibit on Friday night with my parents and Jenny, Doug, and Libby. So more monkey to come! Here are some pictures from tonight...he was so cute!

7 Months!

I know, I know, I say this every month...but SERIOUSLY, 7 months already?! Time is really flying by now, especially since I have been back at work. John is still doing great. He (I) survived his first ear infection and antibiotics. He is finally feeling better and hopefully will stay healthy for a while. I know it is inevitable with him being in daycare now, but I always feel so bad for him when he is sick.

At 7 months, John has been sleeping pretty good. We had a little setback when he was sick, but he usually is in bed by 8:30 and then we wake him up at 6:30. He takes about 2 or 3 naps during the day, and has been eating more and more baby foods in addition to his bottles. We introduced yogurt on Sunday and he LOVES it.

He has been moving all over the place lately. He loves to stand and jump. Standing, jumping, rocking, scooting, you name it. He will not sit still. Check out this picture...he just started going on all fours today!

"Watch out Mom...your life is over as you know it as soon as I figure out this crawling thing!"

This past weekend we were pretty busy just catching up from the week. Our kitchen is totally bare, so we are still living out of boxes. Hopefully by the end of next week the majority of it will be finished, so I can't wait to post pictures then! Brad and my dad installed a ceiling fan in John's room on Saturday, so John and I headed to my parents house to hang out with my mom and Libby (Jenny and Doug were at the MSU/U of M game). Then my parents watched John so Brad and I could go out to dinner. The weekend flew by, but it was nice. The weather has been so great, it makes everything nice. I really don't want winter to come!

Enjoy the rest of the pics from the weekend and tonight. John was being such a little ham today. Hope everyone has a good week!

Weekend in Indiana

We had a great weekend in Indiana this past week. It was so nice to relax and see family. John did so great, we were so proud of him! We had a big party on Saturday, and he was a champ! He slept pretty good in his pack and play, and was super in the car. Thank you Don, Nan, and Lisa for a great weekend! Here are some pictures from our weekend...

Good Bye Kitchen!

The demolition of our kitchen begins tomorrow. Our friend Corey (he finished our basement for us too) is starting the kitchen remodel tomorrow. I am SO excited, but a little stressed out too. There is never a good time for the entire kitchen to be tore apart, so I guess now is as good of a time as any. We figure it would be better to do it before John begins crawling, so we will live with the chaos for a few weeks. Our dining room is a disaster with all of our kitchen contents in there, but hey, it is temporary. Plus, we will have a beautiful new kitchen in a few weeks!

Things here are going good, just busy with being back in the full swing of work and daycare. Sorry, my blog has been lacking on updates :) John is doing great, this is such a fun stage. He is super smiley (despite his constant runny nose he has now) and seems to be doing more and more each week. He had his 6 month appointment last week and weighed in at 19 pounds, 2 ounces (75 percentile) and was 27 inches long (although I know this is wrong b/c he was 27 1/4 for the last two appointments we had when he sick. He would not lay still though to be measured, so my guess is still 27 1/2 inches).

John was sick the day after his appointment, so I stayed home with him. We stayed in our jammies all day, and just played and cuddled. He was much better by Wednesday. Other than that, not too much new. We had a good weekend here hanging out with our good friends Jami and Erik and their two kids. Tonight we went out to dinner to celebrate my brother-in-law, Doug's birthday. I used to hate Sundays, always worrying about the week ahead. Brad always called it my "Sunday Funk." It is different now though, because I have fun playing with John and hanging out. Not that I don't get stressed about work, but it just feels different now.

Anyways, speaking of Sunday nights, I need to get off the computer and finish getting bags packed for the week. Here are some recent pictures.

6 Month Pictures

Our Target picture experience was great!! Although on the way there, John had a major blowout in hs diaper, thus ruining outfit #1 (hence the plain white onesie). He was so smiley and the pictures turned out great. So here are just a few of my favorites...
